Obituary of Peter C. Hawryluk

Peter C. Hawryluk, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his son’s home in South Annville Township, Lebanon County. He was married for 15 years to Charlene (Sweeney) Hawryluk. The couple lived for the last 10 years in Carolina Shores, North Carolina.

The son of the late Peter and Elsie (Foltz) Hawryluk, Peter C. grew up in Annville, PA, and graduated from Annville Cleona High School in 1960. Peter fondly remembered his years singing in the choir at First Lutheran Church in Annville and in other churches he attended over the years. His life-long hobby and favorite work was repairing cars and engines of all kinds. He served for five years as a mechanic in the United States Air Force. After working at the Cornwall Ore Mines, and later as a diesel mechanic for the Conrail Railroad, he opened his own repair shop, Hawryluk’s Garage, at his home in South Annville Township.

In addition to his wife, Charlene, Peter is survived by children to a previous marriage to Judy K (Richwine) Hawryluk: Dawn M Landes (wife of Christopher) and Jonathan E Hawryluk (husband to Karrye) as well as nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1997.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday October 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Fontana Chapel, 22 Fontana Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. There will be no public viewing. Interment will take place on Friday morning at 9:30 AM in South Bellegrove Cemetery, 1340 N. State Rte. 934, Annville, PA 17003 with Military Honors. There will be a luncheon and time of fellowship with the family immediately following the service at the church.
